One night in China (for newbies to RP!!!)

Shandong province.

It was cold. temperatures reach as low as -10 degrees Celsius, and the trees were bare of
their crown of leaves, looking deadened in the harsh winter cold.

Christian walked the lands, pulling his long tan brown cloak together in an attempt to preserve
some of the warmth, his breaths a white cloud trailing from his pale pink lips. His dark black
hair was thrown around by a gale that froze one to the bones, and his bare feet made marks in
the pure snow that lined the grounds.

"Just a little more..." He grunted as he trudged along the mountain track. The Buddhist temple
was only a few more li ahead...there, he would have at least one night of sanctuary...

[I am considering myself as a newbie. ._."]

It was an utterly and completely ridiculous weather, so she concluded. And she was a pathetic fool who hadn’t died in the past now to perhaps die from being frozen. She sighed, letting the warmth escape from her mouth.

She wore only a black and white scarf, a long and large jacket over a black tank top and jeans. She was freezing. Perhaps it was the time in that void where her senses enlarged everything now, probably. However she was not only cold, but exhausted and injured as well. Not to mention lost. How had she ended up here out of all places? How? She silently spoke out loud a very colorful word.

A sleeve of a jacket was ripped half way. Down the other half was bandages fashioned from the ripped fabric of the jacket. Rusted color of the blood tainted the dark vanilla color of the jacket. The injured left arm hung loose, it hand carefully covered by the hastily made bandage. Underneath the fabric would appear a shimmering sign that nearly got her killed. Yes, killed, targeted, again. The world had not changed much from her previous one but a stretch of air she can enjoy.

It was only a weak one and just one of it. That monster had attacked her from behind. She had somehow defended off from it and killed it. That’s right, the innocence… the very thing that added another target to her name. However it wasn’t before the hideous creature injured her left arm before she was able to rid of it completely. She felt a hatred of it. How she felt those… oh, the emotions of those creatures were mixed and were a grayish thing. It tasted wrong to her. It did not help much that her only weapon against them, innocence, left her venerable while activating it. It did not help that her legs were miserably frozen and weighed like a ton each and her waist length hair wet.

The wind blew across the wretched area. She bit her lip from losing her focus. But then where was she heading? Some place of a shelter, a place where she did not have to deal with anything but would be taken care of.
Hah.
She laughed with bitterness at the thought of that. Shelter to her right now would mean a place where she can relax a bit and recover, someplace of warmth. She tripped over the mound of snow and fell like a dead leaf. As she picked herself up, she winced in pain as fresh red oozed from the fabric around her arm. She only dared hope that it wouldn’t freeze and make the wound worse.

Looking around, she only saw dead scenery. Exhausted and with the hope insignificant to her for the moment, she leaned against a frozen tree. The warmth leaked from her immediately and she was chilled to her bones. She could use her wings to gather warmth around her. After all, her wings wouldn’t feel anything but pain. It wouldn’t feel the coldness of the air. However the red wings would make her a target.

She weighed options. Had she known that after this dipped mound of the mountain was a temple, she wouldn’t have wasted time. She didn’t know nor could she see the temple. The frozen floras and bare gray rocks blocked her the view. The frost was deadening her senses, numbing it slowly. She bit her lips with just enough pain to stay aware of her body. There was really no need though, the pain on her arm, magnified by the cold air, would remind her painfully of the injured limb. With her right hand, she adjusted the eye patch on her silver colored eye. She would only let the light purple, color constantly mistaken as gray, out as to not alarm anyone. However who was here to alarm?

“Oh?”

The sound escaped from her lips as a quavering question. Her body instantly went rigid then relaxed. Someone was there, that itself was enough to her for now. It didn’t matter if ally or foe, as long as there was a presence. Anything to disturb this wretched surrounding, she welcomed. Even that tan brown color fabric and black hair was enough. It at least was a sign someone was coming up in her path.

She gritted her teeth as she accidentally let her limp limb touch something. A jagged rock, it seemed, or at least felt. It was just a round rock hardened by the cold. Through her teeth, she let out a suppressed groan as even more fresh red appeared from the fabric through the wide cut.

Christian suddenly turned around, alarmed. There was a young girl, around his age, limping as fresh red spread across
untainted white snow around her left leg. He hurried to her side, his bare feet actually skimming only the tip of the snowy
ground. "hey! Are you okay?" He said in Mandarin, moving his hands to help her up. "How is your leg? Are you from this
area?"

For a moment the girl's peculiar eye color caught his attention. They were of different colors altogether, one of a light violet
and the other hinting towards gold and silver. He brushed this fact off right away. After all, his own eyes were of strange color
too-as red as the blood on the mountain path, the perhaps red some more.

"Wow. You're slightly underdressed for this kinda weather." Chris noted duly, giving her the onceover quickly. She wore a
recently ripped jacket, with her sleeves and several other spots . She was beautifully-built, he could tell even through
the jacket...but now was a wrong time for that. "Here,take this." Chris draped his cloak around the girl. Under he was wearing
a white tunic, long-sleeved and oriental-styled. "Let's go. we can get help ahead..." The wind played around with Chris' long,
black hair, throwing them in his eyes as he struggled up the path against it.

She blinked for a moment as the other, a boy about her age, she assumed, spoke in a language she didn’t quiet grasp well. She blinked; her face quiet clear that she had not understood anything, or close to anything the other had spoke to her. Perhaps the fact that he had spoken to her fast may have helped. She blinked again as she struggled to understand what he had spoken to her. At the moment her pain was forgotten as she tried to repeat what he had told her. Thankfully, the trickle of magic was enough. In the time long past and forgotten, there were such gifts like after all, a basic gift.

“My leg is just numb…”

She stuttered. It felt strange to use such basic gifts again. She had been at one place for far too long. She mumbled out the words, some not being as precise in pronouncement and rather a bit slurred. She then flinched slightly as the other tried to help her up. She couldn’t help flinching. He was too close, actually not for normal people, and she couldn’t help but to flinch. By doing so, she so stupidly banged her injured arm against the rock. Again.

This time, she let out a surprised cry as the pain shot through her unexpectedly. She clenched her teeth as she attempted to keep the pain inside of her. She hated having absolutely no pain tolerance. Perhaps it was because of this that she accepted the cloak without any protest. Even so she still swatted his hand on instinct and stood up on her own. She did struggle slightly with that. Her legs couldn’t feel. Only the icy numb lingered.

Despite all that, she urged herself to move as he led her. As long as a shelter was there, it was worth dragging herself.

“You are rather chatty in this kind of weather.”

She said; her mouth adjusted to the language.

“As for where I’ve been, it is of no business to you, yes?”

Her voice was frost and as cold as the weather itself. It seemed as if she didn’t appreciate it at all although she did. It’s just… She hated the way he ‘glided’ like walked across the snow. She clenched her jaw tightly. It was all she could do not to lose focus.

The girl flinched at his touch, hitting the rock yet again. Chris said nothing. Physical contact could be a
dangerous weapon in the right hands, it was natural for her to be afraid of a stranger.

But as his fingers touched her, he had felt a rush of something. A pulse of sleeping power, somewhere
within her...perhaps there was more to the girl than meets the eye.

Out loud, he said:"Hey, come on, folow me. I know somewhere to sleep through the storm. Can you walk
okay?"

The girl had a peculiar accent, he thought, as if not a local...well. Chris didn't care anyway, but foreigners
were generally chastised here in CHina. Christian could pass due to his ambigious looks, but...

Quickly, he guided her up the treacherous slope, the cold wind howling overhead...

She shivered, this wasn't just from the cold. When he touched her, she felt something. Her power was nervous as well. Something has reached the very debpt in which it was sealed and hidden. She felt it reach her. It made her shiver.

"Yea, I can walk fine."

She said, her face straight front, away from his sight. She took care now to spin the restriction even more tighter inside. It would trouble her if it were to be loose. She tightened it as much as she could without lossing the very focus of it. Right now, she would only focus on walking and being safe. Yes, somewhere where she would be safe and will be able to take time recovering.

Yet, there was something about him. Something that made her trust him even less if possible. He had that hint of... Disasterous emotion within him. Almost like an Akuma's, but his were completely mixed up. A single themed emotion mixed into another whirlwind of madness. Yes, madness.

It didn't matter. She told herself. It didn't matter. Just focus. Focus. Then you can heal and you can... She thought over and over, trying to comfrot herself and trying to focus at the same time. Focus, yes, focus. Stray away from his emotions and the strange stirr in the air. Stay away... Yes, don't focus on thoes, just on walking, yes walking. Walk... Her broken thoughts repeated as she bit her lip to inflict pain on herself. At least her leg moved even if she didn't feel it.

CHristian Nightwish ran a hand through his jet black wild, tussled hair. The road was winding and narrow,
and the winds threatened all the time to fling him off the ledge. He looked back to see the girl cope rather
fine by herself.

Finally they reached a cave in the sides of the mountain, worn away by erosion. It was dark and lighless...but
a hundred eyes peered out from the darkness as intruders trespassed upon their homes in the cave. The walls
were of frozen stone, and dangerous staglamites hung over the ceiling. Chris looked up and shudderred, reminded
of Road's candles.

"Through here. At the end, there's a short path to a monastry who will take us in..." Chris called out to the girl his
voice echoing through the cavern, magnified a hundredfold. He tried starting a light with difficulty.

"Don't talk louder then a whisper. From my experience, they can break easily by a person's voice."

She muttered as she looked inside the cave. Countless eyes sighted on her, she hated it. What did they feel? Did they feel intruded, perhaps offended by their appearance? She shivered again, the chill lingering in her heart longer then it would have felt comfortable.

She entered with care and watched in annoyed amusement as the other tried to light a fire or something like. Did she have enough for the simple trick? Yes, she probably did. And she probably had enough to keep it going for quiet a while as well. Would she do it? She should, this darkness overwelmed her, made her fell as if... Oh Gods, don't think about that. The times in Ecli, the timeless void. She shivered again. She couldn't use the spell unless her innocence was activated. Even the small light created by spell would trigger opening in the restriction and it may come loose. Her wings would help her walking as well.

Was it worth the risk? The other's emotion troubled her. If so, wouldn't it be better to activate it before she was officially vunerable? She felt no active quaver in his emotions, it was stablized, at least for the moment. Even so, was it worth it? Wouldn't the others reject her? The darkness brought in another feeling to her. She stopped walking.

Her breathing sounded loud and her heart beats were too fast. Her teeth clinched as she tried so desperately not to be swallowed by the sheer darkness of the cave. So large and so... It was like a black hole to her. She was unstable, her power wanted out. It wanted to roam as it had in Ecli. It remembered the freedom. Well, it would seem that she had no choice.

She activated it, scrowling and struggling slightly to prevent herself from getting out of control. The fear grasped her. Luckily her wings sprouted and the symbols that scrawled over her arms beat it in the race. The scrawls of the shimmering letters were hidden underneath the fabrics and the area of still quiet dark.

"Let me try..."

And see if I remember... She thought as she casted a light voice spell. A simple one, a forming of a light in which can't really do anything, cannot burn nor give off warmth. Formed by a small condensed part of her own power. Something that even a child of the lowest class in the past could have done. This was a work to her at the moment. The weight and the pressure added by the darkness did not help well. Did she remember the spell in the first place? She fumbled through her memory as she searched for it.

"Kashia ve'j jakell rui'aj veska."

She whispered, barely being able to be heard. Had she spoken the old language correctly? Her power followed thoes words and a small light formed on her extended hand. Small, but enough to lessen the weight of the darkness greately. Her red hued three pairs of wings were folded as she looked around. Her breathing was rough, the restriction was doing all it could do to keep her from using all spells. This simple usless spell that lasted until the user deactivated and this light in which did not give warmth nor blinded anyone took a lot from her. Her breathing was slightly harder to force in and out from before, however she could still walk. Even if she did make a nice target, the darkness didn't weigh on her and she didn't need, no, never! She wouldn't think about it. Not the coldness and the stained... Oh Gods... She surpressed a scream. If it had been still dark, she wasn't sure if her sanity would still exist. Darkness was fine, but in the caves... The darkness underneath all thoes earth, it frightened her, no... Reminded her. Reminded her too much.

If Christian noticed Htoung activating her Innocence, he gave no sign of it. He just looked at the light
and said simply: "Oh. That'll do." And dropped the flints he was holding.

Together they trudged through the cavern, their feet hitting stone cold ground and occasional puddles of
chillingly freezing water. Queit stretched on for eternity behind them...

It was three-quarts of an hour alreadly and by this time Chris had lost track of the number of steps they
had taken. "Hey." He whispered, reminding himself to keep his voice low or risk getting new piercings, "What's
your name? People call me Christian Nightwish."

It was freezing. Everything about it, it froze her. Suddenly she longed for the voidness of the Ecli. Her innocence scrowled. The spell tightened around her arm and her injured arm was painful. Extrodinarily painful. She clinched her teeth against it. As it calmed down a bit, she hissed out the words, result of the fear that she may scream from this new pain.

"I've been called Jevi."

This was true in a way. Her last name; Jeviherei, was indeed called as Jevi. However Jevi, it meant a witch in meaning as well. Would he know the old language? She thought not. After all, these days were the times when she was no longer grasped in the fear of death every second and every moment. She bit her lips, hard. She had been called Jevi as an insult before, no longer. She hated it, yet she dared not tell anyone her name. Even if they knew, she would refuge to be acknowledged by it. It carried too much.

The small light in her hand was still enough to ward of the darkness. She was suddenly reminded of beasts that had attacked relentlessly once and then was hunted for sport later. She was a mere child then when she walked into the den of it. Her own power had caused her survival. They were pushed back by the scent of the... She shook her head. She had no will to see the White city once more. Where she had lived once and where... Everything was gone now. Sacrificed for this air. For the sustainment of her life.

Her leg stumbled slightly as it tripped lightly on something within the dark cold water that formed on the floor. She attempted to gain balence and nearly fell onto the one in front of him. Christian Nightwish. Her steps hurried to regain balence and her wings helped to distribute the weight and allow her to stand properly once more. Nightwish. She hated his name.
Great...
She thought sarcastically. Her savior for the moment was someone who she hated already. No, not hate. Rather, perhaps her instinct, distrust with sense of self-protection. She felt the familiar pull. She spoke nothing of it.

Christian frowned. The girl seemed to be hurting, and more than once she looked almost on the point of falling.
But there was something steely in her backbone that kept her upright, wqalking, a determiantion to carry on no
matter the consequences...

Jevi, she said.

That was a peculiar name. It scratched him on the back of his head, and Chris somehow knew that the itch would
bug him all the way till he recalled it. Jevi...he had remembered crossing such a term in one of the Earl's archives
during his many years of imprisonment...

No matter what, the girl had a strong sense of apprehension about him. A natural reflex of the more intuitive. Chris
wasn't one to be taken lightly-- even though it was uncommon for him to lie, his twisted truths were more than
enough to do harm and stir chaos. That was what he did best. Chaos. Madness. Doubt.

A light at the end of the tunnel broke his train fo thoughts. "Ah, we're nearby alreadly." Christian grinned. The
monastery wouldn't be far off-- he was looking forward to a good bath, though not a good meal. It wasn't that they
didn't feed well- Chris had never been able to stand the taste of vegetables. And God knows all tehy serve there are
vegeterian feed.

Chris stepped outside into the dim light, his feet crunching against a dry twig on the snow. "Just a minute or two." He
informed Jevi. "We'll be there soon..."

"You have a bad habit of not speaking your mind. Not that I should be the one to say anything."

She muttered as she followed. Her voice was quiet soft and it wouldn't have been heard unless the other was paying attention to it. There was an edge to that soft voice. A sharp edge, no, double edged blades. She tasted the pungent iron on the tip of her tong.

Twisted and black. That was what she felt from him. No, black wasn’t the right one. It would’ve been the perfect mid-shade of black. Rather, the perfectly fifty-percent mid-gray. He was like shredded and tied ribbons, knots and tangled to the point where one would have to cut off everything to separate one another. She stumbled once more.

Her wings helped to balance her once more. She felt the energy from the wings feeding into her body as it attempted to keep her sustained. As the light approached, a further greater light, she waved her hand to rid of the smaller and pathetic light.
Should I withdraw my wings and innocence? It may cause caution upon the others… Although red is a color of happiness and such…She thought. Then feeling those tied scent, the awful grayish thing, she decided against it. She would need it or it would be better off if she had it.

Her body was exhausted and was now purely running on the pitiful strands of energy the wings fed into. However it was still enough. She couldn’t feel most of her body parts anymore and without a doubt knew that she would have blue hints of frostbites all over her body. Lucky for her, the blood had yet to freeze although the movement she had kept going caused it to bleed in small, light trickles steadily. Even so, she had enough blood left in her.

Meanwhile, she thought. The feeling of attraction from him, she would ignore. No matter what, she wouldn’t do it. No. Not him. Her own power recoiled from him. No, she wouldn’t trust him. She wouldn’t let him shake her. She adjusted her right eye patch. The gold taint would never be rid of from the time in the Ecli… She knew that. It had drained of the sense of herself. Although she was herself once more, the taint would stay… This had taught her. A lesson she learned in much more harsh conditions then others. She wouldn’t fall for any luring voices, nothing of suave, and everything that existed. This time, she had choice. She would make full usage of it. She would trust him to only the point of his skin, nothing else though. None.
A deception…
She would have none of it.

"You have a bad habit of not speaking your mind. Not that I should be the one to say anything."

Chris just laughed shortly in response. "Indeed, yes. But sometimes...private thoughts are best left like that--private."
He tapped his head with a crazy yet sad kind of a smile.

Stepping into light, Chris could see Jev in full view now. Thick red wings sprouted from her, repulsive and alluring at the
same time. The nagging feeling he ahd was confirmed at once--he recognised the Innocence. Well well...what have we
here...Chris smirked, the Noah itching to take a shot at the Innocence right away. However, Chris reigned in his
impulses, and walked off with a whistle.

The cold was less acute here, but still breathtakingly sharp all the same. Chris strided confidently up a flight of mountain
stairs, as if it were child's play to him. Soon they came to a large stone door. Christian banged the knocker thrice and
turned to wait with Jev. "You know, you should get rid of those. I'm not sure these guys will take it as a nice accessory."

Jevi simply scowled in response and at his smile. So she was right after all. Christian Nightwish was a person who used deception in his will to control and manipulate the others. Then there was thins hint of tugging feeling. Something different. He wasn’t human for certain now. What was it? She felt nervous. Strange quavering feeling in her chest.

The way he looked at her for that second… It frightened her in a strange way. Nervous, almost the hysterical attack, she felt her breathing shallow. At the moment she did not want to heed to his words. She would feel much more comfortable with the wings out and her innocence activated. However his words did make sense. The others fear things being strange. Even so…

She almost hissed at the other and nearly recoiled from him. She felt something wrong with him. She hated him even more now and distrusted him even more. Was that even possible? She pondered for a moment. Yes, she didn’t have to go into the temple. Yea, as if she even had any choice…

“Fine…”

Her lunar colored eyes glared at him as she withdrew the wings. She had no choice for now. None… She was too weak at the moment anyway. She needed to rest and she needed food. Also she would be venerable at the moment as well. Even three small ones will be able to kill her without hardly any resistance…

Chris watched with intrigued eyes as Jev drew her Innocence back. It had been a long time since he first saw
one--how long? Chris thought back for a second. He couldn't recall clearly, but it was about 6 months ago. In
Italy, where he actually grasped an Innocence in his hands. Cole, Sira...

He shook himself from a daze. He had turned his back from them long ago, and he would probably never see them
again. After all...

A young child answered the door, dressed fully in thick robes of red and yellow. "...Yes?" A timid voice squeaked.

Ignoring Jev shooting dagger into his back for some reason, Christian flashed a smile and said. "We are two weary
travellers, in search of rest and respite for one night. Would you please tell your head abbot that?"

"Come in..."

"Easy peasy." He grinned, turning back to Jev. "What's wrong? Come on in, we got ourselves accomodation."

The monk led them to a large hall, filled with a strong scent of ashes and incense. Chris wrinkled his nose, irritated
by the smell.

"Wait here."

A minute later, an old elderly monk came up to greet them. "Amitabha, Buddha have mercy on your souls. You seek
a good night's rest for weary travellers, I am told. But what do you so far away from anything, may I ask?"

Chris turned to Jev quizzically, offering her the chance to answer first.

She was irritated, that itself was clear. She hated this very atmosphere. It didn't fit in with her. The scent however calmed her, the very smell of the sweet and ash smell of burning soothed her. Other then that, it clearly didn't suit her very well. Perhaps it was because of her birth heritage that was still quiet stuck to her. The incense represented safety to her. Although for the moment it was quiet the opposite with this person. Who was he?

She was silently absolved in thought as she followed and yet carefully studying each design on each hall. It was quiet humble, however at the same time she found some fascination within the designs. Although weary and suspicious still, she listened to him and stood still on the spot. She was studying the designs much more carefully now. The familiar humble designs...

The elderly monk's voice led her to switch her attention.

"Amitabha, Buddha have mercy on your souls. You seek a good night's rest for weary travelers, I am told. But what do you so far away from anything, may I ask?"

The voice quavered slightly from the old age and yet quiet firm. The monk's eyes were clear and she could only feel relaxation from what she would've normally called interrogation. However she still scowled at Christian Nightwish as he turned to her. The look annoying her very much.

"I research different heritage and was searching for an item of my heritage. I was being quiet adamant and strayed off from the path when I slipped and fell and hurt myself. The weather has done me misfortune."

She said, her voice weary however set in a confident tone. However her eyes were struggling to keep open from the fatigue. Her body was completely exhausted and she was throughly tired now that nothing fed energy It was by her sheer will that she still stood now. The scent calmed her and she had to do everything to stay awake.
Misfortune indeed...
She thought bitterly.

It was Christian's turn for an answer.

"I simply longed for a good nice mountain trek. By chance we met, and again chance led me here."

The monk nodded, seemingly satisfied. "Forgive this old man's curiousity, but as of late there has been
nothing but bearer of ill tidings...but I digress. Come, weary children, accept our humble display of
hospitality."

Chris wrinkled his nose once more and followed the old abbot.

They were led to a room with an oil lamp which dim flame seemed only one step away from dying. There was two
mats, a blanket for both, and a cloth curtain seperating the two sides of teh room. Other than that, there wasn't
much around.

"You must forgive us; we have but little to offer. I am sorry for treating our guests so poorly-"

"Tis' cool." Chris drawled, slinging his small bag of belongings to one side. The old monk nodded and left, chanting
some Buddhist words.

"I'm gonna hit the bath." Chris announnced to his unhappy roommate. "You look like you need thirty days of sleep, and
then some more." he disappeared along the corridor, whistling softly to himself.

She followed with a light daze. The cloud of the scent calmed her and slowly ate away at her will to stay awake. When they arrived at the room, she automatically curled up on the mattress furthest away from the door. Her back was at the corner and she hugged her knees. It was warm in the room and she could do fine without the blanket. The flickering flames made her sleepy even more. The wanting to rest was overwelming and she was tempted to give in.

She barely heard the other as he exited. She would need a bath in order to sooth the wound. She would ask him later... Right now though, a little rest wouldn't do harm... The soft luring voice like the one of a Ecli lured her gently. In the flickering lights, all of her will to stay awake dissolved. Eaten away by the scent and the warmth as well. Her eyes closed, feeling as if they were made of metal. The luring continued.

Soon she was no longer aware of herself as she fell asleep with her head buried between her chest and her knee. Her arms still hugged her knees though as if protecting herself. Her black hair casscaded about around her, forming dark velvet curtain around. Only a soft breathing allowed to suspision of death to be gone. Other then so, she was quiet still. Her still form drowned by sleep... She looked vunerable and so innocent. Almost like a child curled up waiting for her mother and fell asleep. She was waiting for nothing though. No, not at the moment. All she could have waited for died long time ago. Some of their deaths were unknown to her. It didn't matter... No, nothing mattered to her in this churning dark waters of sleep. It was warm around her and didn't numb her as Ecli did. It protected her... Yet at the same, drowned her.

Chris took a long soak in the ice cold mountain water. Breif impulses to kill and destroy
rose and fell, came and went. The Noah within again contested against his will, bending
his thoughts to its own.

Reasserting himself, Christian reminded the Noah within him who was master, and who
was but a small fraction of him to serve his purposes. Just...just a little more...

Returning to the room, he saw Jev snozing in one corner, stirring an mumbling in her dark
sleep.

Something strange washed over Christian and he felt the urge to kill, to snap her neck
and do away with her Innocence. Without realizing, one arm wavered towards her, fingers
twitching without control.

But again Christian was in charge--he was always above the Noah. It bent its will to him, not
the other way. Christian threw one blanket over the girl, then settled down to read. He had
a lot to cover, and now one more topic interested him--the girl's name. Searching in the
many books of teh arcane he held, he looked for the origins of the girl's name.

In the moment, she was completely oblivious to the danger Christian Nightwish posed on her. She was in the silent world again. It was warm. So warm. She could see nothing nor could she hear anything. It let her rest in peace. When was it the last when she was able to sleep so deep? So deep to be innocence in everything. When was the last time when it was so?

Her form was still as it couldn't feel anything. The blanket covered her and was left as it was as she didn't stir. She was so still. Her face was at peace though. Nothing stressed it. No thoughts inturrupted it. It was silent in her. Everything quieted down. Her nightmare disappeared in this sleep. The nightmare... It had plagued her for, how long now? Almost as long as she started this new life.

The nightmare always started in a light sleep. It would start as when she was a child. She would make an intricate weapon. Two pairs of silver daggers. She would hold it up to her parents, their face in smile and priasing her. Then it would start. Her parents would bleed away, the colors draining away. Her brothers went next. Then verything faded and bleed the colors out. Then... Then thoes whispers. Blames. How she was powerful and yet she couldn't do anything about it. How she didn't do anything about it. How she was a failure. How she wasn't never to be born. How she had been a... The whispers would torment her. The coldness plagued her. It never numbed her as it had in Ecli. It magnified the pain even further.

Nothing of such bothered her now. She was a statue of stone. Drowned in the warmth of the sleep. Drowning in the silent misty lullaby.

Snarling irrtably, Christian threw yet another book down onto a small mountain of heavy books. Damn...nothing
again? But I'm sure it was here somewhere... Studying all those books were about as fun as eating his own head.
Though there was a lot of arcanology, there were so many scientific, non-scientific and mindboggling theories he could
barely wrap hsi head round anything. Christian needed something wicked to search for a distinct subject among all
the stuff...maybe he would call it wiki-pedia...

Giving up for now, he looked through a small window to see teh great silver moon outside. It hung serenely in the
clear night sky, alone save for a few twinkling stars.

In a few minutes Christian found himself outside in the mountains, still staring at the moons. It was deep into the night,
but he still could not find any rest. He hardly ever did. So he might as well train himself a little while he was at this.

With a deep misty breath, Chris picked up two large slabs of rocks, balancing himself precariously on a small jagged peak,
his fingers digging deeply into the stone. He had taken off his shirt, revealing large, inproportionate muscles according to
his figure, result of abusing his body all these years of experimenting and unorthodox training.

Something startled her. A noise. She shifted slightly, unwilling to snap out of the deep rest. Then she remembered. She immediately snapped awake and glanced around. The candle was still going and there was a blancket thrown over her. In between the matresses were a mountain of books. She glanced around, attempting to find the other. Her search didn't go unrewarded as she saw his silluette outside of the window.

A rush of heat came across her face from embarrasement. Perhaps relief as well. She had fallen asleep... A light chill went over her anyway. Even if nothing had come to harm... She still felt a light chill.

Her eyes landed on the pile of books and she reached for one. A book on Arcanology... She flipped one open and begin to read it. The flickering light came to a bother... She caught herself before activating her innocence once more. She scowled as she finished the book. She then went on her knees to find the oldest book. The previous one was too tainted with nonsense. She found one, an old leather book. It was stained and crusted on the edges.

She flicked it open. She read it. It was also tainted in the new language. Even so there were enough old language to amuse her. She read the book. To the very end cover. Her body somehow trembled slightly. As if her body knew about it more then she understood. The old language... It itself was a magic. She flipped once more to the beginning. She read it. Over and over. Every words engraved into her heart, she read it again and again. She sighed as she let the gravity take her and allow her to fall on the mattress.

As much as she hated it, she needed for him to tell her where he obtained the book. How he obtained it for that matter... She sighed, dragging her arm across her face. She saw the initial direction of where he was headed. She would have to follow him. The moon mocked her and she scrowled at it as she jumped down from the window. She would get lost in the building otherwise. She didn't trust her memories at the moment.

Her breath in white, she looked around and saw no one. It would be faster to fly. She activated her innocence. Red wings spread from her back as she casted a simple spell that only humans would fall for. She burned a slip of paper with writings on it to do so. Burned it by using the small flame of the candle, even so, it would work... Hopefully. It annoyed her that her powers couldn't be accessed well. It always had. She sighed, letting the heat out from her mouth. Her tong felt dry at what she was going to do.

With the wings spread, she disappeared into the dark night. Or it would have seemed so from humans. Regular humans with nothing inhabiting inside of them...

Christian was fully focuesed on his training. He held him still as a rock, balancing himself perfectly as he kept
his two arms steady despite the massive weight he was putting on them. Alreadly he felt the strain, but he made
no sign of movement--one might even doubt whether he was alive or not, if they missed the rise and fall of his
chest.

Suddenly Christian let a long, drawn out breath of cold mist. He leapt upwards, swining the boulders down in a wide
arc, using them to knock his path up and down the mountainside, yet causing little disturbance in the process. It
required all his will, concentration and skill for such a feat-- there was barely a sound when rock and roack came
into contact. Once Chris propelled himself into the air against the bright moon, looking like some weird angel with
wings of cold stone. He drew his feet back and body forward in a C-shape, as if he could dance across the sky itself.

Then the boy came down, setting the rocks beside him with a gasp for much-needed oxygen. Without giving himself
so much as a moment for reespite, he began doing push-ups, in an accelerated, harried fashion.

She landed a few distance away from him. She left her wings out. Her steps were soft and hardly any sound came from it. She was in a hurry. It was certainly cold. It dug into her bones deeply. Her breaths were white against the darkness and she was breathing quiet hard. Was it from the simple excersize she performed? No, it was from the excitement and perhaps a bit of fright.

"Christian Nightwash!"

She called, her voice a ringing pitch. There was a hint of anger and curiousity. Perhaps more of surprise and fright. She found him doing push ups.

Her wings were spread wide, the kagome forming threads extending from her hands as if decoration. Her dark hair was a light tangled mess that covered her head. Her eyes in the tone of desperation and perhaps something else. A light wind russled the red feathers of hers. Thoes red feathers, the physical form of her power... The gold and silver chains rattled lightly. Creating a chime like musical sound. Yet it was so dark and such deep in minor tone.

Her body was rigid in alarm and her eye patch was lost in her frantic flight. The silver eyes with gold tint seemed to glow in the night, matching the hue of the moon. It was liquid like and glass. It seemed a mirror as although the purple eyes had frantic emotions in it, her silver eyes contained nothing. It was almost as if she was blind in it although she clearly wasn't. It coordinated well wth her other eye.

Jevi... Her name fit her well. That tug she felt... She tasted air deprieved of oxygen all the sudden.

Christian continued doing pushup. With every push from the ground, his pulse raced faster and faster,
and each push became quicker, more forceful, to the point of inhumane. Finally the rocks that were
alreadly crumbling under his palms gave way, and with a final push that raised his entire body, legs
and all, to the air 180 degrees, He shatterred the earth with raw force.

As rocks crumbled to a dying rumble, and dust settled, Christian looked Jevi deep in the eye, his dark
red eyes boring into her velvet eye. He was still upside down, his body exposed like some grosteque form
of conception of a body totally anatomically incorrect. Muscles too big for such a frame bulged out in the
cool wind. "What dost thou seek counsel mine?"He asked, his lips curling in a tongue unfamiliar to
many.
