Yes, another Soul Eater Port...

It's not quite finished, but I will be working on it. Just wanted to get it up before I left work.

------------------------------------

Name:
Kohaku Ryomasa
"Katana no Tenshi"

Age:
21

Gender:
Male

Alliance:
None

Rank:
Exorcist

Family:
None

Crushes:
None

Innocence [Exorcists]:
BladeWorks [?]

Personality:
Ryomasa seems, at first, to be a sort of lawless, neutral character, following his own whims in his search for an ideal path to justice and what is morally right. He does not believe in God in the typical sense of religion, but he believes in a world where everything is made for and happens for a reason, one that cannot be defined solely by human minds and morality as either "good" or "evil." He is a typically serious person, however he has an affinity to humor when the mood strikes him, although that is a rather rare occurrence. He is incredibly hard to get angry, and his calm demeanor is almost carefree to the point of carelessness, even in serious situations like battles or fights.

Don't take him lightly, however; Ryomasa is as calm in battle as he is outside of it. He views battle as a necessary evil, and approaches it the same way the perfect surgeon approaches his patient: calm, collected, without remorse, and with a professional knowledge of the task at hand. However, he is not sadistic. As a former bodyguard, he puts protection of his charge above his own life, often placing himself in harms way to protect the people under his care. Due to this look at fighting and life in general, Ryomasa despises people who act merely on a whim or for seemingly no reason at all; to him, this is the ultimate violation of the free will granted to humans when they were born; he will go out of his way to chastise and punish anybody he sees doing so, regardless of friend or foe.

Overall, he is a kind person, but he can be dangerous if met under the wrong circumstances. As a side note, Ryomasa has great respect for children, for they represent for him a mind that is untainted by the outlook of society (regardless of whether they are considered "good" or "evil." For this reason, he does not like fighting children, and will often leave a battle unfinished if it goes against this philosophy. The only exception to this rule is an Akuma inhabiting a child; he despises such Akuma even more, and will often obliterate them completely when it is within his power to do so.

Likes:
Candy, children, chivalry.

Dislikes:
Actions without purpose, bureaucracy, excuses.

History:
Ryomasa was born in Kiso-Fukoshima in the Kiso Valley in Japan, and was raised as the child of a single parent; his mother had died merely a year after he was born. His father was a retired Exorcist who taught a fairly unique swordsmanship to the various young children of the town who wished to study with him, and often told stories of the Black Order to his only son as bedtime stories. Ryomasa's father was the creator of a unique style of swordsmanship, and was known for his ability to stop even gunmen with just his sword skills. As successor to the style, Ryomasa was lauded as an extraordinary swordsman with talent that surpassed even his father's. However, he was bored with his existence, and contrary to the training he was receiving under his father and his incredible skill, Ryomasa did not like fighting. He viewed it as something that was not meant to be in the world without a reason, and thus refrained from sparring and other such fights in pursuit of that ideal. However, this all changed quickly, after an event that changed his life.

When Ryomasa was 15, his father left the home on a trip, to go "sword-hunting" as it were; he said little of his destination, and even less of his intentions. As the son waited for the father to return home, he practiced the art of fighting daily, training to fill his time. It was during this time that the son surpassed the father; Ryomasa's skill with a katana and the Mugen Ittou Ryu now surpassed his fathers by an unbelieveable amount. After about half a year, his father returned home, carrying with him a new sword that was wrapped heavily in what seemed to be yellow tape with the words "Keep Out" written on the tape. Ryomasa was excited to try out the blade, but his father simply locked it away, saying that he could only use it when the time was right. What Ryomasa did not know was that his father had been grooming him to become an Exorcist.

How much Ryomasa wished that the time for him to use the blade had come much later...

Merely a month afterwards, Ryomasa was walking through the village when a number of grotesque-looking things with what seemed to be cannons floated through the town. Sticking to the shadows, Ryomasa observed their movements, knowing from his father's tales that these were called Akumas, the tools of the Earl of Millenium, the soldiers of the Millenium Earl. He went back to his father's home, only now being able to put two and two together. His father had likely brought home an Innocence in the form of the katana he had traveled to obtain. Running home, the young "samurai" reached the home of his family, and his father finally acknowledged that the time had come. Father handed the sealed katana to son. The yellow tape began to unravel from the katana as the Innocence within the blade reacted to the compatible user it had been denied.

During this time, the Akuma had arrived, but not in the form that Ryomasa had seen. They had simply been the scouting party. Children began to gather in front of their home, and as Ryomasa stepped out to destroy them, the Akuma withdrew from their bodies, leaving corpses behind. Angered by the possession of innocent children by the Akuma, the new Exorcist went on a rampage, utterly obliterating each of the Akuma in a fit of blind rage and reckless abandon. When the Exorcists dispatched to the scene arrived, they came only to find the Akuma destroyed, a single swordsmand standing in the wake of their destruction. At the request of Ryomasa's father, they took the young Exorcist with them to the Black Order.

Ryomasa trained with the Black Order for five years; his already honed skills with the blade were far beyond those who had simply been thrust into their situation. However, Ryomasa clashed many times with his superiors with the way he operated alone even when he was assigned to teams. Pending review for his actions, the fellow Exorcists who were to escort him to see the panel of members found his room empty, with nothing but the broken glass of the window to signify him being there.

Trained by the Black Order, trained by his father, with the will to follow his own path to the justice that Innocence drove him to administer, Ryomasa had vanished into the night.

Height & Weight:
178cm <--> 55kg

Looks/Picture:
Kohaku Ryomasa Souleater0209LG
His eyes are blue, though.

With a height of 5'10" (178 cm), Ryomasa has a decent height for his age. He possesses long, pale, almost white hair which hangs loose in front of his face to around his neck. His face has a peaceful yet serious look to it at most times, and is rather angular as opposed to round. His gaze is startlingly clear, but his blue eyes, atypical for a Japanese person are rather narrow, and have a calm, analyzing look to them at most times.

He is not muscular in the common sense of the word. Rather, he is lithe, and has a kind of body reminiscent of a coiled spring. His entire body is thin in a healthy sense, with muscles that are responsible for his strength and fitness. His movements have no unnecessary movements, and due to this conservative motion he moves with an ethereal grace, as if he were floating along the ground instead of walking.

On an odd note, Ryomasa has an extremely rare medical condition, with odds of less than one-in-ten-thousand, known as "situs inversus." The condition affects all major structures within the thorax and abdomen, switching many of his internal organs, such as his heart, across the sagittal plane (bilateral symmetry). In essence, most of his major visceral organs are in the places of their mirror image. In addition, Ryomasa is ambidextrous; he also carries a prominent marking: a long, unnaturally straight scar across his back in an "X" fashion.

RP Sample:
With a sigh, Ryomasa stood at the boundaries of the small, dark forest. Rumors about strange happenings in the lake nearby had drawn him here. Whistling softly around the corner of the senbon he'd stuck into his mouth, he started walking into the forest as if he were merely taking a daytime stroll. He was dressed in plain clothing that still caused him to stick out like a sore thumb: plain dark pants, a white long-sleeved shirt with the words OSAMURAI stitched on the top-right corner, dark shoes and a light brown jacket.

He looked into the woods on either side, glancing nonchalantly into the darkness on either side. He'd received word through an old contact that there were a group of beings conducting strange activies in the region, and that it would be worth it to check out the happenings in more depth. He was careful not to make any noise; his movements were quiet and graceful, seeming to glide aross the surface of the water. The katana that hung sheathed on his left side sway with every step, and the massive metal package on his back made nary a noise as he moved.

Swallowed up by the forest, Ryomasa heard noises. Approaching the noises, he found a large group of men harassing what seemed to be a family of travellers. Hidden from the firelight in the shadows of the trees, Ryomasa simply shook his head. So this is what he meant by travellers disappearing. They're like slaughtered by this group and incinerated... And then he saw one of the men raise a knife to the father, who had moved to protect his son. A flareof rage entered the swordsman's heart, and he began to walk forward. "Well well...turning a blade on a child?" he said slowly.

"What kind of lowly, worm of a man are you?"

The others turned to face him. "Oh yeah? What the hell's your problem, huh? Stepping into our territory like this...and now you'll regret it!" The other men leaped from all sides. Ryomasa smiled. "Oh good, all of you coming at once...saves the trouble of hunting you down." He bent low to the ground, and then sprang back up. A metallic rustling sounded, the men paused in confusion as a multitude of metal shapes rocketed from the massive container on his back. They landed with their edges in the ground like a rain of lethal blades. Smiling as the metal package, revealed now to be a massive scabbard-shaped object, fell to the ground as he let the straps slip from his shoulders.

Drawing the blade at his side, he smiled. "Mugen Ittou-ryu...let's finish this quickly, then." The gang of bandits moved in on the lone samurai, and within moments men were lying on the ground, unconscious. As he stood in the middle of the ring of bodies, surrounded by fallen men and his own swords, Ryomasa lifted a sleeve to find a small bloodstain near the cuff. "Tch...I doubt the bloodstain will come out..." He turned to look at the leader of the gang, the man who had held the knife to the child. "Well then, come!" The other man retreated in fear, shaking, and vanished into the shadows. Sheathing his blade, Ryomasa walked around the bodies, collecting the fallen blades; he cleaned them of any marks and sheathed them back in the massive container.

Turning to the family, he smiled. "Well then, you should be moving; it would not be wise to loiter here..." As the father turned to go, the son kept staring at him. All of a sudden, Ryomasa could feel a wave of killing intent as if a strong wind was blowing through the clearing. His calm, reassuring smile turned to a hard line of anger as the child's body was discarded, and an Akuma appeared. As it rose into the air and trained its cannons upon him, Ryomasa dropped the container to the ground. A blue aura began to rise about him. Suddenly, what seemed to be yellow tape with the words "KEEP OUT" manifested in the air, encircling the boundaries of the power coming from the samurai, containing the sphere of power that surrounded him, a radius of about ten meters in every direction.* "Akuma who inhabit children disgust me..." he said slowly, as he let his jacket fall from his shoulders.

"Innocence, hatsudou!"

NOTE! The aura-thing (his innocence) looks kinda like THIS.
