Personality: Upon getting to know her, Rei is rather amiable, but this is usually only towards the female species. Rei’s distrust of the male species (refer to history) can oppose her friendly nature by making her seem cold, aloof, and indifferent. She is intelligent and sharp, and is secretly extremely soft-hearted, though she tries not to show this as she considers this a weakness. She is, oddly, rather naive about love. Not having any order in her life can easy throw her off balance, so Rei takes all her orders seriously and doesn't slack off. Her calm, lady-like demeanour will drop when she sees something cute, or gets mocha ice cream - to which she'll behave like a child, an image she tries to savage before people realise how she really is deep down inside.

History: Rei was actually an orphan who was adopted by the leader of a traveling dance troupe when she was found abandoned at the hotel they were staying at as a baby. Originally, she was to wait on the fellow members on the dance troupe, but the leader saw Rei’s potential and decided to groom her into an eligible successor to take over when she had grown old. Under her instruction, Rei was taught basic etiquette, the grace and styles of dancing, and was propelled to be the star of the troupe. She was always reminded never to open her heart to anyone who showed the slightest romantic interest, and so what 'love' truly meant has always been elusive for Rei.
Having grown up with a troupe of female dancers had considerably exposed Rei to the traitorous beasts that men showed themselves to be when lust overpowered their senses. Many a time she had come across the men taking advantage of the women, and her good friend had been raped whilst she had been performing onstage. The painful memory of finding her friend reduced to sobs and spouting unintelligible words had been the final straw, and thus sealing her intense hatred of men, though this has now been toned down to general dislike.
At the age of 14, the troupe had begun to run into financial trouble, and Rei was forced to make house visits to perform her dances in order to make ends meet. Many a time, when Rei had refused to sleep with the customer, she had sustained red marks where they had slapped her or thrown something at her, but she didn’t cry, nor did she complain. Once, the customer had gotten drunk on sake, and had been violent in his attempts, preventing her from returning till late. Upon returning she had found the entire troupe massacred, and witnessed the disintegration of her troupe leader into dust after the appearance of black stars over her body. The demon, still hovering above her, poised to attack – but her intense rage and sadness activated the latent innocence within her dancing fans, effectively killing the akuma. This was all witnessed by a finder, who subsequently brought her to the Black Order, where she became an official exorcist.

"Too bad. You can't count on those guys..." Rei whipped her head around, locating the owner of the raspy voice who dared to intrude upon their private conversation. Positioned in a dark corner was a man stretched out, limbs akimbo. Rei surveyed the man (whom, to her annoyance, she failed to detect - Especially with that bird perched on his shoulder) cautiously, her hands instantly flying to the hilts of her swords. This man, whoever he was, screamed danger.
He had instructed them not to waste their time obtaining help. Rei doubted he would even give them the chance to; despite not being threatening outright, he wasn't to be reckoned with. His casual mannerisms and lack of specific interest was unnerving ... who was he, exactly? Rei carefully masked her face, making sure the curiosity wasn't blatantly written all over her face. Beside her, she thought she felt her Captain tense.
Her eyes glimpsed at Kanna for the briefest of moments, and for a spilt second there held Fear itself. Turning back to the man who had cat-like pupils, she wondered if this was Thailog.
If so, what was he doing here, in the flesh?
Rei was perfectly aware of the power struggles going on within the Gotei 13; she most certainly didn't approve of it, but what exactly could she do? She bit her cheek, hard; this man knew the weaknesses of the other Captains, and where they failed. She eyed him like a hawk as he slinked across the room, sliding into one of the chairs and focusing his gaze on Kanna. Again, she thought her Captain shuddered.
"There is promise in this one. She is different. " And suddenly, he snapped his gaze onto her. Rei tensed as his glare ensared her completely in that one moment. Still retaining the emotionless mask, she listened as he awaited Kanna's reply for him to join him on his side...
She didn't know what to think. Sure, he had hit the nail on the head itself. But what good would it do to defect to his side? It seemed that remaining on either side would be an eventual one-way ticket to Death's lair, anyhow - just that one would be quicker than the other.
However, she knew what her current duty was - to try and protect her Captain. Stepping in front of Kanna, she inhaled sharply and prepared to draw her swords, lest anything prompted him to take sudden action.
"You should know, Captain," She announced firmly, firm resolution echoing as she spoke. Rei stared at Thailog in the eyes as she talked to Kanna, who faced her back.
"I'll follow you wherever you go, and whatever path you choose."
