Suprise

Cole Shenson slid quickly down a wet hillside, panting and wiping sweat from his forehead with the back of his left hand. Adorning his right hand was a heavy gaunlet made of a blackish metal that was actually His innocence, clawed fingers balled into a heavy metal fist as he stopped, glancing back at the hilltop. As if in answer to his gaze, the hilltop seemed to explode, torn apart by large, heavy Akuma Bullets. Cole crept quietly back up the hillside, crouching just below the decimated top portion, waiting for the Akuma to get close enough for him to make his move. He mentally made a note to request backup on all his missions, just so he could have a few allies on call in case things got bad, like this.

Waiting, Cole sighed heavily, getting his breath back. Apparently there was innocence in Finland. That was why he was here. They had speculated that the Earl didn't know about the innocence, so only one Excorcist was neccesary. Cole rolled his eyes at the thought. For a bunch of smart guys, they can really be idiots sometimes. He thought dryly. He had been looking around, pretty much at random, for traces of the innocence, when he had stumbled across a group of level one Akuma doing the same thing. They had noticed him first, and attacked, keeping him at a distance, and driving him on the run. Now he was about to turn the tables on them.

As if on cue, an Akuma floated into sight over the hilltop. Cole Sprang, his gauntletted fist punching straight through the akuma's flesh. Looking around, he swore. The other two Akuma had stayed back to cover the other one. Hurling himself forwards, trying to cross the distance and attack, he grimaced. It was unusual that Level one Akuma could think of a plan like that. He reached them just as they opened fire. Taking a pullet on his Gauntlet-Armoured forarm, he winced, knowing that would leave a bruise, before dispatching the first Akuma with a slash of the clawed Gauntlet fingers. With a final, backhanded slash to the second Akuma, he dropped into a crouch, panting. It was very odd that Akuma could come up with a plan like that.

Immediately after this thought, the Level Two Akuma who had been hiding behind the next hill sprang, and Cole swore. He could handle a level one, but level two was a bit above him. He resumed his flight, sprinting away from the akuma.

Cole, sliding quickly down the side of the hill, once more beating a hasty retreat from the Akuma. He actually could feel sorry for the Level One Akuma, after all, they didn't choose to become akuma, and the pained expression on their faces showed that they took know pleasure in killing, but the Level Two Akuma were different. They had more personality that level One Akuma, and more often than not, that personality was brutal, taking great pleasure in attacking and killing humans. He grimaced as he landed on something suprisingly soft. Looking down, he noticed the giant hand, and immediately, jumped off of the hand, rolling in the grass head over heels away from it, before turning to face what he thought was an Akuma. "What is this?" He asked, staring up at the immense form.

"That's General Tiedoll's Innocence," said Fenrir, who had entered the scene. "It is amazing to just be so close to it...isn't it?" The exorcist winced as a long explosion occurred not far from where he was sitting.

He looked at Cole, "So, what are you standing here for? There are akuma still! We can't always depend on General Tiedoll"

With that Fenrir rushed to the scene, grabbing his key chain. "Activate: Ragnarok!" It transformed into a silver revolver. Fenrir skid to a stop near a tree. He aimed and fired. This was the kind of scene that he hated.

So much akuma are here. So much have died.

Cole, glancing at Fenrir, looking back at the towering form once he acertained that he was an ally. "This is... Innocence?" He said, stunned. What incredible power... No wonder he's a general... He thought, noticing the elderly man for the first time as Tiedoll spoke. A wry smile twitched his lips at the General's words, and he glanced at his gauntlet, then back to the towering figure. Decent innocence? It's like a toothpick compared to a sword... He thought, still awed by the massive power of the general. "Thanks, General Tiedoll." he said uncertainly, a bit unsure that the general was actually complimenting his innocence.

He was taken back to reality by Fenrir's reminder that there were still Akuma in the area. "Right, sorry." He muttered, turning back to the remaining few Akuma, his gauntlet begining to glow with a pale blue light. Charging, he ducked under a kick from a Level Two Akuma, and striking up at it's leg. the Pale light spread, covering the Akuma. "Requiem Funeral!" He said, smiling as the Akuma was pulled to the ground by the force of the energy. Jumping over the fallen akuma, he charged a Level one Akuma, dodging it's bullets before punching with the gauntlet, destroying it.

Meanwhile, behind him, the Level two akuma began to struggle free of his technique. Feeling it begining to free itself, he turned, just in time to see it's leg break free of the light, canoning towards him. Cole had just enough time to raise the gauntlet before the kick landed. The gauntlet blocked the worst of the attack, but the force of it sent him fly backwards, slamming against the hillside with a curse.

"Cole, you alright?" Fenrir shouted in alarm. The other exorcist had just slammed backwards. That is going to hurt... He couldn't look for long for another wave of akuma appeared before him. Fenrir shot one, then slid from the mud and dropped. The weapon dropped a few feet away from him. Great. Gunshots were fired at him now, by the akuma. Fenrir rolled to Ragnarok until he was covered in dirt. He aimed a hit at one of the akuma and ran towards Cole, hoping that his friend was alright.

Sadly, behind him was a huge mob of akuma. That probably wasn't a good idea.
